Generally speaking mud, rain and the Irish weather do not make great bedfellows how ever for the participants of this years Bog Run organised by Cancer Fund for Children it was the ideal combination!
The sell out 2022 charity bog run in the grounds of Castlewellan Forsest Park saw around 400 participants run, crawl and slide their way around the 5km route on a very wet and windy Sunday afternoon.
This shoot comprised of three main phases to ensure maximum event coverage.
Phase 1 would take place at the start whilst the participants were getting registered and ready to go. I had to get photos showing happy and excited participants in their fresh event t-shirts before they got covered in mud.
Phase 2 would be the meat of my morning. I picked a spot in the forest about half way around were I could set up some lights and get individual photos of as many of the participants as possible. This would be important as participants could tag themselves crawling through the bog on the charity's social channels after the day was over.
Phase 3 was the finish line. It was great capturing the relief of the participants as they crossed the finsh line after their grueling 5km bog run!
Thank you!
